Do you feel tired? And do you not feel like working out because of that? These tips ensure that you have enough energy to exercise!
- Eat two hours before
Try to eat a larger meal two to three hours before your workout. This meal should contain both protein and carbohydrates. The carbohydrates provide sufficient energy and the proteins provide your muscles with fuel.
2. Eat a snack
Are you still low on energy half an hour before your workout? Then have a small snack before you start exercising. For example, think of a banana with peanut butter. Choose a snack with carbohydrates that are easy to digest.
3. Hydration
Did you know that dehydration can make you feel fatigued? So, try to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Take a bottle of water with you everywhere you go so you don’t forget it. You can also opt for ionised water. Due to the electricity of these ions, the water is absorbed faster by the body.
4. Caffeine
Some sports drinks contain a lot of caffeine, more than that’s good for you. It’s better to drink (ice) coffee or tea before exercising. Try to drink this about fifteen minutes to half an hour before exercising.
5. Routine
When you feel tired, your mood is often not too good either. So, try to make your exercise routine more fun by listening to your favourite music or a podcast. Don’t feel like getting on the treadmill for half an hour? Then skip this and see what your body needs today.
6. Pick a different time
Is your workout always planned at the end of the day and are you often too tired? Then choose a different time. You may prefer to exercise before work so that you don’t have to think about it for the rest of the day.
7. Take a nap
A nap of about twenty minutes can be enough to give you a little more energy.
8. Go outside
If you’ve been indoors all day, some fresh air can give you energy. You may even be able to exercise outside.
