The most common mistakes when using deodorant

Almost everyone uses deodorant on a daily basis. We use it to smell a bit better and to just feel fresh while we sweat during the summer. But, we do make a lot of mistakes using this product. Which ones? Let me tell you!

  1. Wrong product

You can choose between a deodorant and an antiperspirant. You may sometimes confuse these two, but there’s a difference. For example, you mainly use deodorant for the smell. If you suffer from sweat (stains), an antiperspirant may work better. This ensures that the exit of the sweat glands is blocked and you therefore no longer sweat.

2. Wrong moment

You can apply deodorant throughout the day, but if you opt for an antiperspirant, it’s best to apply it in the evening. This way the product binds better to the skin before you start sweating.

3. Wrong deodorant

If you have sensitive skin or suffer from eczema, it’s not a good idea to use deodorant with a strong scent. Your skin will become irritated faster as a result. In this case, try an unscented deodorant.

4. No variation

You may have been using the same deodorant since high school. It may be the case that your sweat glands have become accustomed to this deodorant and you, therefore, suffer from sweat odours more quickly. Therefore, use a different deodorant every so often.
