Maybe you recognise it: no matter how well you take care of your skin, those annoying pimples keep coming back on your forehead. Do you often suffer from this? Then this article might shed a light on the why!
- The health of intestines and stress
The Eastern theory tells that the forehead is connected to the digestive system and the nervous system. Do you suffer from pimples on your forehead? Then that could be related to your intestines. But stress can also be a factor. It’s therefore important to take good care of yourself, get enough rest and avoid too much sugar.
2. Hormonal changes
In addition to this Eastern theory, there are more factors that can influence the appearance of pimples on your forehead. For example, hormonal changes can play a role. They cause increased sebum production, which causes the pores to become clogged and inflamed.
3. Wrong skincare
It may also be the case that you don’t take care of your skin properly or incorrectly. Think, for example, of cleaning the skin too much and too often or using certain cosmetics. Use mild products without perfume and alcohol.
4. Hair products
Not only do the products you put on your face affect your skin, but your hair products can also cause pimples on your forehead. Think, for example, of shampoos, conditioners, and styling products. Switch to milder products to see if the pimples reduce or disappear and make sure it doesn’t end up on your forehead.
5. Sweat
Do you often sweat on your forehead? That can also be a reason for the appearance of pimples. Dirty pillowcases can also be a culprit. Oil and sweat from the skin can build up in the pillowcases, so it’s important to wash those regularly.
6. Genetic
Unfortunately, some people are genetically predisposed to acne, making them more prone to acne breakouts in certain areas.
7. What to do?
Fortunately, there are a number of things you can do against the pimples on your forehead:
- Cleanse your skin once or twice a day with a mild cleanser.
- Benzoyl peroxide is a remedy that often works well against acne. It’s available at the drugstore or pharmacy.
- Never squeeze the pimples, because then you often make it even worse and you can cause scars.
- Drinking enough water doesn’t signal your sebaceous glands to produce extra sebum to keep the skin soft and flexible. This prevents pores from becoming clogged due to an overproduction of sebum.
