How to cut a watermelon in three ways

There’s nothing quite as tasty and refreshing as a slice of watermelon on a hot summer day. But what’s the best way to cut it? Let me tell you, and give you three ways while we’re at it!

  1. In slices

Would you like a slice of watermelon? Then cut a piece of the bottom with a sharp knife so that the melon stands and then cut vertically through the middle. Then cut the two halves into quarters (or save one half for the next day). Then cut each quarter into slices.

2. In bars

If you want to cut small bars that fit easily in your hand and mouth, proceed as follows. Cut the watermelon in half horizontally with a sharp knife. Now take one of the halves and cut it into slices. Turn the watermelon a quarter and cut it again into equally wide slices. As a result, you now have ‘square bars’ of watermelon.

3. In cubes

You can also cut your watermelon into cubes. It’s easy to eat and looks nice when you make a fruit salad. It takes a little more work though! First, use a good knife to cut a slice from the top and bottom. Place the watermelon on the bottom and then cut off the skin from top to bottom. Slice the melon. Then cut each slice into strips. Turn a quarter and cut it into bars again. Et voilΓ , you have cubes!
