Tea can help you sleep better, but it’s important to choose the right kind. Definitely, not all teas are suitable for a night’s sleep. So, let’s take a look at them, shall we?
- Chamomile tea
You don’t want to consume too much caffeine before going to sleep. Caffeine disrupts your sleep. This is why it’s better to opt for a natural tea. Chamomile tea is an excellent choice because it contains no caffeine and also promotes sleep. Even if you suffer from anxiety, this tea can have a calming effect.
2. Green tea
Green tea, especially decaffeinated green tea, contains L-theanine. Research shows that this amino acid has a calming effect and also improves sleep quality. Regular green tea does contain caffeine, so don’t drink too much of it in the evening.
3. Peppermint tea
Peppermint tea is also an excellent herbal tea to drink in the evening. This tea doesn’t contain caffeine and will soothe your stomach.
4. Lavender tea
Lavender tea has a relaxing effect. Both the scent and the tea itself have a calming effect. A cup of lavender tea contributes to a relaxed feeling and this is exactly what you need before going to bed.
