This is the order in which it’s best to clean the toilet

Is it time to clean the smallest room in the house? Not many people know this, but it’s best to follow this order while cleaning the toilet!

1. Make soapy water

First of all, make soapy water of detergent and lukewarm water. Don’t forget to grab any brushes, wipes and gloves.

2. Ventilate

Make sure there’s sufficient ventilation in the room before, during and after cleaning. This can be done by opening a window or turning on the ventilation system.

3. Put toilet cleaner in the bowl

Then you put toilet cleaner in the toilet bowl. Let it sit for a while before you start cleaning the toilet.

4. Clear the space

The towel to dry the hands can be put in the wash, the soap dispenser on the side and other knick-knacks can also temporarily go way during cleaning. Don’t forget to wipe them with soapy water and a cloth before putting them back. You can also vacuum the floor in advance.

5. Clear dust

Has dust accumulated near the toilet during the week, such as on shelves or racks? Then make the room dust-free first. This will prevent you from spreading the dust further with a wet cloth.

6. Clean surfaces

With the soapy water you wipe the surfaces, such as the sink, shelves, door (handles) and light switches.

7. Clean the outside

After wiping the surfaces, clean the flush button and the outside of the toilet, i.e. the top and sides.

8. Clean the toilet seat

Next, you take the toilet seat. Clean the top, side and bottom thoroughly. Also take the hard-to-reach places with you, because dirt will accumulate there.

9. Clean the toilet

Clean the toilet bowl and (under) the rim. There’s dirt and grime here. With a toilet cleaner and a toilet brush, you should be able to get rid of this easily.

10. Mop the floor

Finally, don’t forget to mop the floor and wash your hands with soap. After this, the job is done.
