The DC Cinematic tag

As a fan of DC, and have uploaded the Marvel one yesterday, I began searching and thought I had done a DC one before. Turns out I haven’t. And that to me is a crime considering I’m a diehard DC fan. Anyway, let’s get started right away!

1. How were you introduced to the DC fandom?

As a kid, I always loved Batman. I read all comics I could find in the library, and by now I’ve basically read all the old(er) ones, but not all new ones yet. (Money issues, cough cough). But I think I was about 5 years old when I read my first comic. Yeah, I was early with reading haha.

2. What’s your favourite DC film?

The Dark Knight (2008). Christian Bale will always be the best Batman to me, and I truly loved that film. Also because this was the film with Heath Ledger as The Joker. I loved that man so much.

3. Top favourite DC character?

I mean, duh, Batman. I literally grew up with the guy haha. I know he’s basically just a guy in a costume, but he’s got something, you know? He has zero powers and relies on his strength, gadgets, and Alfred and Lucius. Like, if that isn’t a real superhero, I don’t know what is.

4. If you were transported into the DC world and had to trade places with one of the superheroes, who would you choose?

I think I’d then prefer Aquaman. I’ve always wanted to live in the sea and be able to breathe underwater, see what it’s like to be surrounded by fish and the beauty the ocean has to offer. Aside from the dangers Aquaman faces, I’d just like to meet so many sea creatures and become friends with them.

5. What are some of your favourite quotes from the films?

”It’s not who I am underneath, but what I do, that defines me.”

”You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”

”Peace has cost you your strength, Victory has defeated you.”

6. Which crew would you like to be part of most: Batman’s crew, Injustice League, or Suicide Squad?

Obviously Batman’s crew. I mean, he’s got James Gordon, Lucius Fox, Alfred Pennyworth, the Oracle, do I need to continue?

7. Favourite and least favourite ship?

Least favourite: Superman and Wonder Woman.

Favourite: Catwoman and Batman.

8. Favourite and least favourite villain?

Least favourite: Tweedledee & Tweedledum.

Favourite: The Joker.

9. Unpopular DC opinion?

There haven’t been any good Shazam books until the most recent run. It kinda looks like they don’t know what to do with the character and always tries to make him darker and edgier, and those stories kinda suck. The film actually did improve on him though, and it makes me curious to see the second one.

10. What’s your favourite DC comic?

The Killing Joke (1988). It’s a sadistically brilliant comic with some sharp dialogue and truly uncomfortable moments.
