What your hairstyle reveals about your personality

Jade is a hairstylist and emailed me to ask if she could write an article about what your hairstyle says about your personality. I was quite curious about this myself as well, so I said yes and I, hereby, give the stage to Jade! Tell us what our hairdos mean!

1. Long and loose

You don’t like any weird hairstyles, nor do you wish to use any headbands and such. You prefer to wear your hair loose if possible. Does this mean you’re lazy? Well, no. It shows that you’re a fan of good basics and you don’t feel the urge to hind behind hair clips and intricate short hairstyles. You stand firmly on the ground and always keep your goal in mind.

2. Fifty fifty

Does the word ‘doubt ass’ sound familiar to you? Medium length hair is typical for you, so you play it a bit safe. You find it difficult to make choices and that’s also reflected in your favourite hairstyle. Do you wear it loose or rather tight? Why not both? Underneath that layer of doubt also hides a diva-to-be. Someone who likes to show their luscious locks to the outside world, but doesn’t want to be bothered by loose tufts on the face.

3. High ponytail

Such a high tail shows that you’re spontaneous, young and fresh. An elastic like the scrunchie is perfect with this hairstyle. Some people may think you’re naive, but you know all too well how the world works. You have an open attitude and make friends easily. Sounds fine, right?

4. Low bun

Do you prefer to wear your hair in a low bun or ponytail? These hairstyles show that you’re modest and that it’s important to radiate class. You don’t put yourself in the spotlight and wait patiently before opening your mouth. If you do say something, it’s often useful and people are happy to take your advice to heart. With such a modest personality you can stand out. And what better way to do that than with a striking hairpin?

5. High bun

Your bun prefers to be perky on top of your head. It’s unmissable and the same goes for you. You know exactly what you want and how to get it done. Nothing or no one can turn you off your path. And here the rule applies: the tighter and neater the bun, the tighter you are in your daily schedule. Don’t be afraid: this doesn’t mean that you’re stiff or rigid. You do need to be purposeful and organised. And there’s nothing wrong with that at all.

6. Braid

From the good old braid to the intricate herringbone: you don’t turn your back on it. You like to pay attention to your appearance and are always open to something new. Also in the rest of your life. You enjoy going on an adventure, meeting new people and you find routine boring.

7. Out of bed

You secretly know it yourself: you could wash or comb your hair a little more often. But there are so many other things you’ll want to do during that time. You’re passionate about your work, your relationships and hobbies and do nothing halfway. You also don’t care much about what others think of you. They just take you as you are. So, also with a messy haircut.
