Suffering from a hangover? Natural remedies that can help

Did you have a bit too much fun last night? Or know that you’ll likely drink a lot in the upcoming days? The morning after is always the worst to come, so my friend Paul is here to give you a few of the remedies he uses!

  1. Coconut water

Alcohol dehydrates your body. It ensures that the pituitary gland no longer secretes a certain hormone, which means that the kidneys no longer absorb as much water. This is why drinking alcohol causes headaches and dehydration symptoms. Your body is out of balance the next day and needs water. Coconut water is a good addition because it’s very hydrating and replenishes lost electrolytes.

2. Green smoothie

A green smoothie may sound terrible, but the great thing about a green smoothie is that you get the right nutrients in a very simple way. Ingredients you can choose from include spinach, kale, water, coconut water, celery, cucumber, banana, avocado, apple, and lemon.

3. Exercise a little

It’s not always a good idea to exercise with a severe hangover, but a little exercise certainly doesn’t hurt. Take a twenty-minute walk in the woods and you’ll see that you’ll feel much better after this.

4. Warm and cold shower

The idea sounds awful, especially if you have a hangover, but it can really help. Jump into a warm shower and as soon as you’re almost done showering, turn the shower faucet to the coldest setting. By doing this, you stimulate blood flow and toxins quickly leave your body.
