It’s very important that you drink enough water throughout the day. These signals indicate that you’re not drinking enough water and should do something about that immediately!
- Bad breath
Do you always brush your teeth well, but do you still suffer from bad breath? You may be drinking too little water. Water is necessary for saliva production. Saliva has antibacterial properties that fight bad breath.
2. Hungry
Sometimes you’re hungry because you haven’t eaten enough. In this case, it’s necessary to eat something as soon as possible. Dehydration can also be the cause of feeling hungry. If you notice that you feel like eating foods with a lot of salt, it could be that you have actually drunk too little water.
3. Headache
It’s a bit unclear why dehydration can lead to headaches. One possible explanation has to do with the pain receptors that are attached to the meninges. Drinking too little water can cause fluid from the brain to reach the meninges, creating pressure, which then triggers the pain receptors.
4. No concentration
If you feel that your concentration is waning or your focus is diminishing, it may be smart to drink a glass of water. Dehydration can cause such complaints.

5. Constipation
Do you find it difficult to go to the toilet and do you suffer from constipation? This can be a signal from your body that you haven’t drunk enough water. Water gets the digestion going.
6. Moody
Everyone can be moody sometimes, especially when you haven’t eaten anything in a while. Drinking too little can also lead to a bad mood. You may be more irritable or more impatient than usual.
7. Less elastic skin
Drinking enough water ensures elastic, healthy skin. For example, pinch the skin of your hand. If your skin bounces back quickly, you’re adequately hydrated. If not, your body may need more water and may be dehydrated.
