Reasons to eat apricots more often

The summer period has arrived and this also means the start of the apricot season. This is why this small piece of fruit is so healthy!

  1. Digestion

An apricot contains a lot of fiber and this makes your intestines happy. Apricots contain both soluble and insoluble fiber. This means that both diarrhea and constipation symptoms can reduce by eating apricots.

2. Health of the heart

An apricot contains many vitamins and minerals. For example, an apricot contains a lot of potassium, a mineral that has a positive effect on the heart of your heart. For example, potassium can contribute to a regular heartbeat. In addition, potassium also has a positive influence on high blood pressure, which in some cases can lead to heart disease.

3. Immune system

It won’t surprise you, but apricots strengthen your immune system. This has mainly to do with vitamins C and E. Vitamin C, for example, protects your white blood cells. Vitamin E supports the T cells, which in turn play an important role in the immune system.

4. Health of your eye

Apricots contain beta-carotene, which eventually develops into vitamin A. Vitamin A has a positive effect on your vision and prevents night blindness.

5. Hydration

A fresh apricot consists of 86% water. This means that an apricot can have a very moisturising effect and can therefore be an ideal snack. A piece of fruit that you can take to work or as a snack after a workout.

6. Antioxidants

Apricots contain many antioxidants. Antioxidants are important for your body because they keep your body cells healthy and can counteract oxidative stress. Oxidative stress can eventually lead to chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.
