Green tea has many health benefits. For example, tea is good for your mental health and lowers your blood pressure. But which benefits does green tea have, specifically? Let me tell you in today’s post!
- Mental health
Drinking green tea is good for your mental health. This would be due to theanine. An amino acid found in green tea (albeit in a small amount). This amino acid ensures that your stress level is reduced and you feel more relaxed. Green tea could help, especially for people who are going through a stressful period.
2. Memory
Drinking green tea may improve your short-term memory. A study shows that green tea ensures that you can plan better and come up with a solution to a problem way faster than usual.
3. Cholesterol
A 2020 study shows that green tea lowers cholesterol. In particular, LDL cholesterol, also known as bad cholesterol, is reduced by drinking this particular tea.

4. Blood pressure
Drinking green tea may also lower your blood pressure. Green tea is said to have a positive effect, especially on people who suffer from high blood pressure. This is mainly due to the antioxidants in green tea. The antioxidants reduce inflammation and ensure that the blood flows more easily.
5. Bone health
A 2022 study shows that drinking three cups of green tea a day helps keep your bones strong. In postmenopausal women who didn’t drink green tea, researchers saw a decrease in bone mass (in the back). The risk of osteoporosis decreases due to the antioxidants in green tea.
6. Type 2 diabetes
A 2019 study shows that drinking green tea reduces the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. People who have already been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes are said to have better control over the disease thanks to green tea. Insulin resistance could be reduced by drinking green tea. Research shows that drinking green tea improves your overall health. It’s recommended to drink at least three cups of green tea per week.
