Because of my love for music, I want to share my favourites. So, the way this works: I’ll share 5 songs I like from this artist/band. And I give a small background story of the artist/band!

This month: Escape the Fate

Escape the Fate is an American rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 2004 and originally from Pahrump, Nevada.

The group consists of Robert Ortiz (drummer), Craig Mabbitt (lead vocalist), TJ Bell (rhythm guitarist and vocalist), Kevin “Thrasher” Gruft (lead guitarist), and touring musician Erik Jensen (bassist). As of 2013, Ortiz is the last founding member in the current lineup of the group. Ronnie Radke, known as the lead vocalist for the band Falling in Reserve, was the band’s vocalist until mid-2008.

Their music has been described by critics as metalcore, post-hardcore, emo, screamo, and hard rock. Craig Mabbitt has said that he draws inspiration from almost all genres. Ortiz stated that there’s a huge variety in the band’s influences from metal bands like Metallica and Iron Maiden to the newer bands that they currently tour with, movie scores, or top 40 and rock songs.
