Good communication is important in a relationship. You should discuss these six topics with your partner on a daily basis to make sure you both are happy and content!
Try to talk about your goals every day. These can be goals related to work, as well as personal and health-related goals. This way you know what the other is doing and you can help each other. Talking about it openly also increases the chances that you’ll actually achieve these goals.
2. Difficult situations
Tell the other person about difficult situations or things that made you restless that day. For example, think of an awkward conversation with a friend or a workout that didn’t go the way you hoped. Discussing this will make you feel more connected to your partner.
Have you been sleeping badly lately or do you suffer from back pain? Talk to your partner about this. He or she won’t be able to solve the problem overnight, but talking about it will help you feel relief. If necessary, you can look for solutions to possibly get rid of the problem in the future.
“Remember when we…?” Talking about the fun things you’ve been through together certainly creates positive feelings. This conversation makes you realise how happy you are with each other and how much you’ve already been through together.
Discuss things you want to do in the future. For example, think about that long trip you want to make, but also ask how your partner envisions his or her life in five or ten years. What dreams or ambitions are there?
Very cliché, but also say what you’re grateful for to your partner. Sometimes this is big and you want to tell your partner that you’re grateful for the unconditional support. It’s often (very) small and you like that your partner has done the shopping today or has already picked up the children from school so that you could take relax.
