Zodiac signs and the three types: which one are you?

You have your zodiac sign, your moon sign, and the ascendant that you can calculate. This is how you find your so-called birth chart. But if you zoom in a little deeper, you can find out if you’re cardinal, fixed, or mutable. You can split constellations into these so-called modalities that show how constellations express themselves, react to situations and go through life.

• Cardinal: Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.
• Fixed: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius.
• Mutable: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.

Cardinal

The constellations that fall under Cardinal sparkle at the beginning of each season. Aries marks the beginning of spring, Cancer marks the summer, Libra marks the fall and Capricorn marks the winter. These zodiac signs are visionaries: the signs of the zodiac that are true leaders and trendsetters. They get ideas wherever they go. Hard work and effort aren’t their best qualities, but at least you can count on them to have the best ideas.

Fixed

The cardinal zodiac signs get things going, the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) are the doers. No zodiac sign is so good at working hard and executing plans that may or may not have been devised by others. Finishing to-do lists is second nature to them. In addition, they’re reliable, focused, and dedicated. Someone you really want on your team.

Mutable

The changing constellations prepare for the change of the season. To build on the above, the cardinal signs come up with a plan, the fixed signs execute it, and the mutable signs perfect it. The power of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces is to give a positive spin to any situation. They’re like a chameleon: very flexible and adapt easily to circumstances.
