Drinks that help you sleep better

We know that caffeine has a bad influence on your sleep. It’s recommended to not drink coffee ten hours before going to sleep, but luckily there are also drinks that do have a positive effect on your night’s sleep.

  1. Pomegranate tea

Research shows that eating and drinking pomegranate can have a positive effect on your sleep. This is because pomegranates are packed with good nutrients, such as folic acid, potassium, iron, and vitamin C. People with a lower vitamin C level in their blood have more sleep problems and wake up more often at night.

2. Golden latte

The golden latte is a good substitute for coffee. In Ayurveda and Chinese medicine, this mixture of turmeric, cinnamon, coconut oil, and almond or coconut milk has been drunk for centuries. The golden latte has a lot of health benefits: it’s said to help against inflammation, boost your immune system, and improve digestion. The latter has to do with the turmeric that calms the stomach and intestines. It helps to digest your dinner and that in turn ensures that you fall asleep faster and sleep better.

3. Peppermint tea

Another great tip for calming digestion is peppermint tea. Peppermint has a mild taste and, just like cross mint (which is often used in mint tea), is very nice for relaxing your stomach. Abdominal cramps are therefore less so that your stomach and intestines can quietly do their job without bothering you. Just like with the golden latte, mint tea ensures that your digestion doesn’t keep you awake.
