Popcorn, the snack that people often eat during films. Popcorn is simply a must during a film night, though some people get tired of standard supermarket popcorn. That’s why I’ve collected some easy recipes for you to make your own!
- Basics
Popcorn can be popped in different ways. One of the ways is in a pan: take a saucepan and put a small dash of sunflower oil in it. Add the corn to that. Don’t put too much corn in the pan, because the corn needs room to pop. Remove the pan from the heat when you can barely hear any pops. You only remove the lid after you no longer hear any pops. Just be careful not to burn it.
2. White chocolate (basic recipe and white chocolate that can be melted)
Melt the white chocolate in a bain-marie way. Stir the chocolate every now and then to prevent it from burning. Meanwhile, place the popcorn on a baking sheet. When the chocolate has melted, you can pour it over the popcorn. Then let it harden.
3. Caramel sea salt (basic recipe + 40 grams of butter, 90 grams of sugar, and 1 tablespoon honey
Place the butter, sugar, and honey in a saucepan and place over medium heat. Keep stirring until everything has melted and then let it caramelise to a golden brown mixture. Then add the caramel directly to the popcorn and gently stir it together. Finally, add some sea salt.
4. Smores (basic recipe + milk chocolate that can be melted, mini marshmallows, and broken crackers
Melt the chocolate au bain-marie and stir it well every now and then. Place the popcorn on a baking tray and pour the chocolate over the popcorn when it’s completely melted. Immediately sprinkle the broken biscuits/crackers and mini marshmallows over the popcorn.
5. Blueberry & cream (basic recipe + 1 handful dried blueberries, and Vanilla Candy Coating
Melt the Vanilla Candy Coating in a bain-marie manner and stir well every now and then. Place the popcorn on a baking tray and carefully pour the melted Vanilla Candy Coating over it. Then sprinkle the dried blueberries over the popcorn.
6. Parmesan cheese & rosemary (basic recipe + 1 handful finely chopped rosemary, a few drops of lemon juice, grated parmesan cheese, and salt and pepper
Note: before making the popcorn in the pan, add some rosemary to the oil to get the flavour going. When the popcorn is ready, put it in a bowl and drizzle a little lemon juice over it. Sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese (to taste) and salt and pepper.
