Favourite of the month #67

Because of my love for music, I want to share my favourites. So, the way this works: I’ll share 5 songs I like from this artist/band. And I give a small background story of the artist/band!

This month: Pa Sheehy

Pa (Patrick) Sheehy is an Irish singer-songwriter from Dingle County Kerry.

Sheehy achieved some chart success in his native Ireland and across Europe as the lead singer of Walking on Cars. Since the 2020 break up of the band, Sheehy began releasing solo material. His debut single, “Saw You at a Funeral”, was released in June 2021 with a follow-up single “Roisin” released in August 2021.

His debut EP, The Art of Disappearing, was released in September 2021; with a tour of Ireland and Europe proposed to follow.

Personal review: Pa’s lyrics are so inspiring, so admiring, so personal. All of that mixed makes for songs that you relate to, that you feel to the core of your heart. The vocals added to that and the use of instruments, especially guitar, makes it so swayable in a good way. It’s refreshing to listen to, it opens up a new whole new vision of how to put words into a song that speaks volumes. And I can’t wait to hear what he’ll do next. This was just the beginning of a career that’s gonna end up (high) in the charts. And he inspires me to write my own music too. And there’s rarely any musician who has that kind of effect on me.

This is my top 5 of his debut EP!

  1. I Saw You At A Funeral

2. Through The Fields

3. The Years Never Waited

4. Róisín

5. Drop Me In The Ocean

What’s your opinion about him?

Love, Skye Lewis/Deem ❤
