What type of procrastinator are you?

Everyone has those moments when you don’t feel like doing something. What happens next? That’s right: procrastination. That’s just a part of being a human being. I’ve listed all types of avoidant behaviour, both study and work related!

  1. Daydreamer

You’re the best at daydreaming and everything around you distracts you, which leads you to put off all your work. Because there’s that new coat I wanna have, should I buy it now or not? If I empty my piggy bank… No, focus at the task at hand.

2. The I-work-best-under-pressure

Do you want to finish everything on time? That definitely doesn’t suit you. You perform best under pressure, which is why you start your assignments at the last minute. But does stress really work?

3. The perfectionist

You have been given a task and you’re doing everything you can to complete this task as perfectly as possible. You spend weeks designing your assignments and match the colour schemes of your presentation in such a way that your own style emerges. Just be aware that you’re postponing your other assignments this way.

4. The helping hand

Does anyone need help? Then you’re there for them, no matter what. You help where necessary and you do that with love, but your deadlines are also getting closer…

5. The what if?

What if I have a bad idea? What if I fail? Or what if I can do everything all over again because it’s not good enough? Because you spend so much time coming up with disaster scenarios, you work less or even postpone your work completely. Because if you don’t do anything, you can’t do anything wrong, right?

6. The lazy one

Not every procrastinator has a good reason for procrastinating. Some simply don’t feel like working at all and prefer to have a Netflix marathon or watch YouTube videos. Because that’s more fun, isn’t it?
