The things that happen whenever you visit your grandparents

I advise everyone to visit their grandma and grandpa as often as possible. They’re simply the sweetest people on earth who pamper their grandchild(ren) with love. And you can see that in almost everything they do. I’m curious if you recognise the following in your grandparent(s)!

  1. Biscuit tin

You’re less than a minute in and the biscuit tin is already pressed into your hands. Oh, and of course you also get a cup of tea. And now say for yourself, who says no to a biscuit.

2. No knack for fashion trends

”Are you wearing pants with holes in them? Shall I sew them up?” No, grandma, that’s the fashion these days…

3. Childhood photos

Every time you’re confronted with those embarrassing photos from the past. Your grandparents always like to grab a photo album to show you. “Oh look here you were…”

4. Crisps

You are still full of those biscuits and the bowl of crisps is already being put on the table. Okay, maybe just one…

5. Talk about school

Not a visit goes by without the question ”How’s school?” And of course you tell them that everything’s going smoothly. But on the other hand, you also have grandmothers and grandfathers who’re incredibly proud of the school performance of their grandchild(ren).

6. Grades

You must always show them your current grades. And you might even get a little something (despite having an F for math).

7. Pincing your cheek

Your grandmother always has to pinch your cheeks, because that’s what grandmothers like to do. I don’t know exactly why.

8. Give memories

Grandparents often give their things to their grandchildren so that they’ll always remember them. Cherish those things, even if it’s sometimes so ugly. You’ll be very sorry if you ever decide to get rid of it.

9. Waving goodbye

As soon as you go back home, you’re always waved off until you’re out of sight. That’s so very sweet! They can’t wait for you to come back and they hate you leaving. So visit them regularly!
