My friend Sharon works at a perfume shop, one where you can get your very own smell sample with ingredients you love. She texted me and asked if she could write today’s post, so I said yes! You ready to find out how you can smell your perfume longer? How to keep the scent steady and flowerish? Sharon will tell you all about it!
- Spray on the skin only
On your bare skin, not on your clothes. Perfume is activated by heat, making your perfume smell a lot better on the skin. Perfume can also stain your clothes; and you don’t want that to happen.
2. Pick warm spots
The warmer the place where you spray your perfume, the better. So go for places like behind your ears, in your neck, on your chest or your hollows. This way, you can smell your perfume all day long.
3. Layer your perfume
When you go shopping, make sure you also buy a shower gel and body lotion in the same scent. You smell more intense and the scent will linger a lot longer. It costs something, but then you also have something.

4. Avoid eau de toilette
Eau de parfum is a lot stronger due to the difference in composition. It’s true that it’s a lot more intense. So if you don’t like that, it’s probably not made for you.
5. Take care of your skin
Your perfume doesn’t do so well on dry skin. It works much better on an oilier, well-groomed skin. So lubricate well. For example, just before use, apply a body lotion in the same scent to the place where you apply your perfume.
6. Keep it cool
Believe it or not, fragrances also have a certain expiration date. Do they discolour or smell slightly different? Chances are that they are no longer good. Keeping it in the refrigerator can extend the expiration date by two years.

7. Don’t rub
And not because you can rub the molecules to pieces, because that seems to be a fable. The real reason? The top notes are released by rubbing, so that the fragrance evaporates sooner.
