Every 2 days, I’ll answer some questions from the ‘Ask and I’ll tell tag’. It has 6 colours in total, so I figured it’d be more fun to split them in 6 articles divided over the course of two weeks. It has questions that ask about your future, your past and your current life. I say we dive right in and start answering some purple questions!
1. What kind of volunteer work would you like to do?
Work in an animal shelter. I’d want to try to find them new homes, so I can avoid them getting killed because no one wants them. And yes, that happens a lot. More often than you think. And I mean, who doesn’t want to care for dogs and cats of all breeds? Play with them, feed them, walk with them. It sounds like the perfect volunteering job for an animal lover like me.
2. Give yourself a compliment
Myself? Oh dear. Okay. Skye, you’re an amazing writer. I know multiple people, including teachers, said you’d never become a writer. But here you are. You wrote 5 books so far, and are close to publishing your sixth, one I couldn’t be more proud of. I can’t wait to see what you’ll do with the other two books in terms of story, but I know it’ll be just as amazing as this first part. You’re talented, never let anyone tell you otherwise.
3. Which film can you watch endlessly?
1917. I watched it 18 times thus far and I’ll watch it many more times this upcoming year. It’s the film that kept me going, that got me through quarantine. It gave me an actor I fell in love with. So yes, 1917 has a special place in my heart and it’ll always remain there.
4. What’s the first thing you pay attention to when you first meet someone?
Their eyes. That may sound stupid, but I can sense if someone is nice or not by looking into their eyes. Eyes tell a lot about people’s intentions. It hides lies, bad intentions, but also shows the truth and the good intentions. It’s a technique that’s not easy to explain, but it’s a gift, I guess? Maybe that sounds a bit extreme, but I love being able to use this to my advantage.
5. What does your ideal Christmas look like?
No Covid around, that’s for sure. Other than that, just having a lovely Christmas dinner with my family as we play a game afterwards and share presents. And listen to music while we laugh, have fun. I do love cooking during Christmas, so I’d love to cook a big meal for my family without having to worry about things like money or time.
6. What will you do when you retire?
Probably all of the things I didn’t cross off my bucket list yet. I’m only 23 (almost 24), so I’m not even gonna think about my retirement now. I’m way too young to think about that. So I’ll wait a couple of years before I can answer this question to its fullest xd.
7. What would you do if you were invisible for a day?
I’d go everywhere you normally have to pay for. I’d sneak inside the cinema, museums, castles, you name it. It’d be amazing to not pay to visit anything and to just walk around freely while having fun. I could also pick stealing, but this sounds a little less criminal to me 😉
8. Is there something you spend too much money on?
Yes, merchandise. Mostly Funkos. I know, it’s practically useless, I’ve been told that multiple times. But I just enjoy having them. They’re fun, cute and so amazingly detailed. I mean, everyone has their own hobby. It isn’t wasteful to spend all your money on drinks you consume at one night and feel bad about the day after? In that case, I say spending money on Funkos isn’t so bad 😉
9. What did you want to become when you were a kid?
An actor, as I mentioned before. But also a teacher. Though I tried that last one and… Let’s say it wasn’t my thing after all. Or well, it was but… Never mind, you can find that story somewhere on my blog. In any case, I’ve always wanted to be an actor and still want to. Oh, and I wanted to be a book writer, but I already am.
Love, Deem/Skye Lewis ❤
