I’m a massive film lover and know lots of actors I love. It doesn’t matter what kind of film or series they play in, I’ll go watch it. Okay, that’s not entirely true, but you get what I mean. Anyway, without further ado: let’s get started!
This month: Robert Sheehan
Robert Michael Sheehan, born 7 January, 1988, is an Irish actor. He’s best known for television roles such as Nathan Young in Misfits, Darren Treacy in Love/Hate, and Klaus Hargreeves in The Umbrella Academy, as well as film roles such as Tom Natsworthy in Mortal Engines and Simon Lewis in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. He has received multiple Irish Film and Television Award and BAFTA Award nominations. In 2020, he was listed as number 41 on The Irish Times list of Ireland’s greatest film actors.
I discovered him in Misfits and god, I loved Nathan right from the start. After that, I saw him as Tom Natsworthy in Mortal Engines and started watching The Umbrella Academy shortly afterwards. I then watched bad Samaritan, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Geostorm and The Song of Sway Lake in terms of films and Love/Hate for series. He’s such a phenomenal actor and definitely deserves the nominations. Though, he deserves winning an award more. I hope he will one day.
His Irish accent is just so, oof. I’ve always loved the accent but when he speaks, holy moly. In any case, I also watched his performance of reciting The Odyssey, along with other famously known names such as Andrew Scott, Jeremy Irvine, George MacKay and others. The way he did that, in his Irish/British accent. It got me clued to my screen. Other than that, I love watching and listening to his podcasts with Tom Hopper and the ones he does on his own. His voice is a real privilege to listen to.
My top 5 films/series he starred in:
- The Umbrella Academy
2. Mortal Engines
4. The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones
5. The Song of Sway Lake
If you know this actor, how did you get to know him? What did you watch of him?
Love, Deem ❤
