Chocolate, who doesn’t love it? Whether it’s a chocolate bar, chocolate ice cream or tiny chocolates in a box: we’ll want to eat it right away. Of course, some get worried that eating too much chocolate will ruin their summer body. But honestly, you don’t need to worry about it as much! You know why? Because it has lots of positive effects on our body!
1. It reduces the chance of having a stroke
Swedish research shows that women, eating ‘much’ chocolate, will have 20 percent less chance of having a stroke than women who eat little chocolate. What would ‘much’ chocolate be, you might ask? Say one to two chocolate bars, weekly.
2. It’s good for your brain
Chocolate takes care of your brain, making sure it functions the way it should. Cocoa contains flavonoids, which ensures the blood flow in our brains to be at its best. It helps our brains to work properly and be active. So, right before you have a test: eat a piece of chocolate!
3. It protects your heart
A study in 2011 showed that eating chocolate reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by 37 percent!
4. It reduces stress
Yes, it’s true. A study in 2009 gave people who were overly stressed, 40 grams of dark chocolate, every day. The results? Two weeks later, their stress levels were reduced!
5. It keeps you young
Dark chocolate, that contains at least 70 percent cocoa and is low in added sugars, acts as a miracle cure for growing older. Cocoa is the perfect medicine for your mental health, the maintenance of your memory and keeps your brain active!
6. It makes you happy
Dark chocolate contains certain substances, that work well for mind and body. We’ll get happier by eating dark chocolate. Why? It’s because of phenylethylamine, which gives you the same feeling as when you’re in love. Oh, and endorphins as well, which reduce stress and pain. And, last but not least, anandamide, also known as the ‘lucky ingredient.’
Will you eat more chocolate now?
Love, Deem ❤
