War movies that I find worth watching!

One who knows me, knows I’m into war movies. I’m just glad they still make movies about periods one should never forget, let us feel how it must’ve been back in the day. Some movies are made for legends, to honour them. Those movies, I appreciate even more. Therefore, I’ve decided to make a post about war movies I recommend watching!

1. 1917

April 6th, 1917. As a regiment assembles to wage war deep in enemy territory, two soldiers are assigned to race against time and deliver a message that will stop 1,600 men from walking straight into a deadly trap.

2. Hacksaw Ridge

World War II American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, who served during the Battle of Okinawa, refuses to kill people, and becomes the first man in American history to receive the Medal of Honor without firing a shot.

3. Where Hands Touch

A rites of passage story of a bi-racial teen struggling for survival in Nazi Germany.

4. Private Peaceful

Set in the fields of Devon and the World War 1 battlefields of Flanders, two brothers fall for the same girl while contending with the pressures of their feudal family life, the war, and the price of courage and cowardice.

5. Jarhead

A psychological study of operations desert shield and desert storm during the gulf war; through the eyes of a U.S marine sniper who struggles to cope with the possibility his girlfriend may be cheating on him back home.

6. War Horse

Young Albert enlists to serve in World War I after his beloved horse is sold to the cavalry. Albert’s hopeful journey takes him out of England and to the front lines as the war rages on.

7. Saving Private Ryan

Following the Normandy Landings, a group of U.S. soldiers go behind enemy lines to retrieve a paratrooper whose brothers have been killed in action.
